There’s an undeniable excitement to attending a classic motorcycle auction in person. The thrill of witnessing rare, historic machines from the past and recent past, combined with the possibility of bidding on a bike you’ve always desired creates a heady, unforgettable atmosphere.

Nevertheless, our lives are busier than ever these days and finding the time and budget to travel to an actual auction site can prove a serious inconvenience for many of us. The folks at long-running J. Wood and Company Auctions have a solution to the popular logistical issue, namely, an online auction on Sunday, June 22 that allows classic bike fans to bid from the comfort of their homes. Or garages, workplaces or anywhere else convenient for smartphones and other devices.

The bidding begins on Sunday June 8th in this no-reserve online auction and continues until the 22nd and consignments are already rolling in for what promises to be a blockbuster of a sale with some of the CRM team’s own favorites headed to the bidding block.

Fans of quick and sexy Italian roadsters have a chance to bid on a very rare and well-maintained Laverda 10003C, a motorcycle that many historians credit with kicking off the modern supernaked revolution. Released back in 1975, the torquey, bring orange Italian roadster is sought after by collectors and vintage racers the world over. The fabled Laverda Jota triple is based on the 1000cc triple, which will only increase in value in either guise.

Our team is also smitten by an original 1971 Honda CB750 Four that’s still showroom clean and fitted with the rarest of accessories, a pair of hard saddlebags manufactured by Japanese helmet powerhouse Shoei. The consignment Honda reminds us that, besides being a keen racebike and later a popular cafe racer custom conversion, the CB750’s smooth powerplant, disc front brake and rock-solid reliability, made it a popular touring bike in the years before Honda released their game-changing GL1000 Gold Wing.

J Wood is accepting consignments now and you can get your own machine sold by phoning (978) 939-6868 or emailing jwoodandcompany@gmail.com. Keep an eye on what’s coming in for sale at www.jwoodandcompany.com and happy hunting!
