The Shows Must Go On

December 10, 2020 | By Mike Seate

For several years, cafe racer magazine has been a partner with the Progressive International Motorcycle Shows. The annual traveling two-wheeled circus is a highlight of our staffs year as we enjoy packing up shop and hitting the road. The IMS events provide a time to catch up with you, our readers and see what’s new in the motorcycling community, whether it be the eye-popping custom bikes in the J&P Cycles Builder’s Showcase, or the latest machines being rolled out by manufacturers both large and small. Like far too many two-wheeled gatherings this year, the 2020 IMS calendar was cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but there’s some very bright light emerging at the end of this particular tunnel. It was announced this week that the IMS schedule of events will indeed take place for 2021 with the massive gatherings staged outdoors. It’s a smart and timely move by the organizers who realize that navigating the ever-changing waters of local and state regulations can be a nearly impossible challenge. Instead, the tour will follow a new, cross-country schedule that finds the Progressive IMS dropping some familiar venues- Washington, D.C. and Minneapolis, for example – while adding a few new cities and event spaces that should prove a breath of fresh (outdoor) air. Check out the she schedule below and make your selections as tickets go on sale April 9. Cafe Racer is currently making plans to attend a few of these much-anticipated shows, with the Chicago, New York and nearby Carlisle, PA. dates already confirmed. Stop by our booth, share a cold beverage and see what’s new as we’ll have a couple of our recent project bikes in tow. Looking forward to a kick-ass 2021!
