Few events on our calendar are as enjoyable as Cafe Racer magazine’s annual VIP Tours of the Mecum Las Vegas Motorcycle Auction staging area. During the amazing sale of over 1,000 rare, classic and extremely desirable machines held at the sprawling South Point casino and hotel, buyers get to watch just about every motorcycle they’ve ever dreamed of roll past under the auctioneer’s gavel. Our tour takes place on both Thursday and Friday mornings and two groups of six people will win a chance to tour the backstage staging area where the auction’s most popular bikes are prepared for their moment on stage. Members of the CRM staff will be joined again this year by Mecum’s Craig Mallery, the auction’s deeply knowledgeable curator and all-around fixer who shares some insights into auction trends, which classic and vintage two-wheelers are hot sellers and, just as important, which are not.
