On Saturday, July 19, from 12–3 PM, Boston’s Vanson Leathers is hosting an
event that’s all about what it really takes to make things in America
today. They’re calling it: Real Talk, Real People, Real Made in USA
—and that’s exactly what it is.

The crew at America’s top riding leathers manufacturer will be joined by Rachel Slade, journalist and author of the book “Making It in America”, and Willy DeConto and Alex Goulet, the team behind “Crafted with
Pride” a printed directory of over 1,400 American-made consumer brands (Vanson
included) will also be on hand.

These folks are asking hard questions and sharing honest answers about
what it means to manufacture ethically in the U.S.—and what it takes
to keep that fire alive. In an age of rampant corporate job outsourcing and the difficulties in finding and purchasing quality motorcycle gear made in this country, hearing from folks well-versed in these issues is both timely and smart.

The day will include book signings of both titles, factory tours, a casual Q&A, and some
refreshments—plus the chance to connect with a group of people who
still believe in the value of building something with your hands.
