Win This Bike

It’s nearing the time of year when folks expect to get a few items for free, though these are generally found beneath the tree parked, sparkling in our living rooms. Our friends at Ton-Up Clothing/Red Torpedo are giving away a present next month that I’m sure any rider worth their well-worn leathers will appreciate, a customized Harley-Davidson Sportster. The Scotland-based motorcycle clothier is handing off the keys to this stripped-down street custom and the motorcycle itself should make anyone’s Holiday Season.

Among the performance upgrades are a set of S & S barrels and pistons pumping out 1,203cc, S & S cams with .550 lift, a complete custom, Heim-jointed rear end, custom suspension front and rear a clutch and front master cylinder from Magura, Continental tires on both chromed, 18-inch rear and 19-inch front wheels, sintered iron, floating brake rotors with custom brake calipers and some mean, black gloss paint. As you well know, Harley-Davidson has ceased production on their traditional (and very popular) air-cooled XL Sportster line-up after seven decades, so traditional XLs are soon becoming collectible.

The bike is valued at $20,000 as should prove as much fun to ride as it is to kick back and drink in the endless details; we especially dig the crazy suspended cafe solo seat, the very loud shorty stainless steel exhausts and the copper-colored fork tubes.

This model was designed and customized by noted builder Kevin Dunworth, formerly of Loaded Gun Customs and current man behind Dunworth Machines and the always excellent Valhalla Custom Builder’s Showcase held each June during Chicago’s Motoblot street festival.

The chance to win is available to anyone who shops on redtorpedousa.com or tonupclothing.com, through Dec 6, 2023. Purchasers will receive one entry for every $50 spent on meanbird, red torpedo or ton-up clothing.
